[ Soren and Ike have always had a special bond. It was not the normal kind of relationship where there'd been awkward periods of courting, gifts or what-have-you-not. They'd just sort of... gravitated to each other the more they were together. To the point that everyone knew they were together before the boys themselves really caught on. And staying together... staying like this was just as natural as breathing.
It was to the point now where they simply shared a tent. To Soren it was convenient. It gave him ample time to coordinate plans with Ike, as well as go over budget items. But more than that... he was just always more comfortable being near him. It took some time, but he'd even begun to accept more openly Ike's affection. Hugs... kisses... although it was still embarrassing, when it was just the two of them, he didn't back down anymore.
Although... that couldn't be said about all things. There was still one he was avoiding. Pursuing a deeper connection... for some reason Soren always had some kind of excuse. Ike likely knew there was a deeper reason for it, but whatever it was, Soren wasn't talking.
Tonight, with his head in the maps, choosing their path for the next day's march was no different. Though he seemed antsy now that the subject had come up a few times-- dodged or not-- he still hadn't offered a real reason for his attitude. It was oddly familiar to his original attempts to push Ike away. But why... ]
